A few weeks ago Next Level Pictures Collaborated with TLA productions to shoot the Risor Chamber Music Festival in Norway. Jonathan and I flew from New York to Oslo then took a 4 hour bus ride to a small village called Risor. The idea was to shoot the concerts as cinematically as possible and intercut them with beauty shots of the surrounding area. The artists that were performing at the concerts were some of the biggest names in classical music including Marc-Andre, Per Arne Glorvigen, Brett Dean, Leif ove andsnes. Below is the photo of the cottage we stayed in for the 2 weeks we were in Norway.
The venue was a very small church in the heart of Risor and we were very limited with the amount of space we can take up. We shot with 2 5d's, 2 7d's and L-series glass. We also had a few GoPro Cameras but they proved to be useless in Low-light so we ended up scratching them after the first concert. 2 of the 4 DSLR cameras were on sticks and the other two were on the Kessler Cineslider & the Kessler Pocket Dolly. We shot roughly 20 concerts in the 8 days we were there and all went well. On the last day we shot an outdoor concert and got to use the Kessler Pocket Jib with the Revolution head & Oracle controller. We had a blast working on this and we look forward to collaborating with everyone again next year.
